Myth #1: Meditation is just for hippies and yogis.
Meditation isn’t only for yogis and hippies. Meditation is beneficial for all ages. Meditation has been demonstrated to decrease blood pressure, stress, and general well-being for EVERYBODY.
Meditation for 12 minutes a day for eight weeks improved mental and physical health in persons over 50, according to a 2014 JAMA research. Participants exhibited enhanced memory, and cognitive performance, and reduced anxiety, sadness, and inflammation.
Meditation: how to start? It’s simple. You only need a peaceful relaxing area, a comfy chair or cushion, and a few minutes. Meditation doesn’t need specific equipment or instruction.
Sit comfortably with your eyes closed and your back straight. Observe your breath as it enters and leaves your body. If your mind wanders, focus on your breath. Start with a few minutes daily and build up to longer sessions as you become used to it.
Meditation isn’t a fast remedy or one-size-fits-all. Regular meditation requires time and patience, and its advantages may not be immediately obvious. Meditation may calm, concentrate, and relax you with regular practice.
Meditation may enhance mental and physical health for everybody, regardless of age or background. Try this effective practice despite prejudices or misperceptions. See if it helps you.
